Made to Order (MTO) Policy

Overview

Carboline understands that our customers will occasionally have the need to purchase specialty made products. Carboline has the unique ability to manufacture specialty material upon customer request. This policy outlines the details of providing this service.

Standard MTO policy summary

MTO products are specialty items & sizes that we do not stock and are manufactured at the time an order is placed.

MTO production requirements

  1. 1. Order must meet the products' minimum order quantity requirement.
  2. 2. Standard production time for MTO items is on average 4-5 weeks. (Lead times may vary depending on the product.)
  3. 3. Orders will be considered complete and shipped in full within a batch yield +/- 10% of the requested quantity.
  4. 4. Orders cannot be cancelled after the material has gone into production.
  5. 5. All MTO items will ship directly to the customer from the site they were manufactured upon completion.

Small-batch exceptions

Select products can be made in small batches to fill a customer's need.  Small batches are defined as a minimum of 25 gallons and a maximum of 50 gallons of the MTO component and must meet all the standard MTO Production Requirements and will include a small batch fee of $300. Please reach out to your Sales Representative or Customer Service Representative to confirm product eligibility and required order quantity.

Expedite batch exceptions

Carboline understands that our customers may need MTO products sooner than the standard lead time and will do our best to alter our production schedule based on the customer’s need, if an expedite is requested.
The expedite fee and requirements are outlined below.

Expedites must be requested at the time of order entry and must meet minimum order quantity requirements.

Carboline's MTO expedite option offers a lead time of 10 business days* for the MTO item ordered with a $1,000 fee that will be added to the invoice. This applies to each component individually that needs to be manufactured.
